Richard Law was born on  July 12, 1972, in the beautiful coastal, urban port city of Savannah, Georgia. He is a self-taught musician who presents his work in a diverse collection of paintings at the Cultural Arts Gallery.

From his early days growing up in Savannah, GA, Law has been inspired by the people and culture around him. His artwork reflects this, with images that include musicians, museum artifacts, barbershops, and more. His pieces are inspired by his upbringing and the Lowcountry landscape and reflect everyday emotions in meaningful presentations with rich colors.

Richard Law is known for his vivid use of colors and textures in his painting to capture the difficulties of wildlife and landscapes. The exhibition, reception, lecture, and Make-N-Take Family Art Program are presented by the City of Savannah’s Department of Cultural Affairs, where Law shared the inspiration behind each work with attendees.
